Cast your burden

"Cast all your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you;

he will never let the righteous fall."

- Pslam 55:22

What does it mean to "cast your burden"? Strong's concordance has an interesting note that the noun form of this word, "cast" can refer to a pelican because of the way it casts itself into the sea to capture its prey. "When I have been on the beach in Florida on the Gulf of Mexico side, I've seen this occur dozens of times. The pelican glides gracefully over the blue waters of the Gulf. Then it casts itself into the water with abandonment and purpose. What a picture of the way God wants us to approach Him in prayer!"
