The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3

I caught this show with Tracy and I enjoyed it very much as it brings out the life of the simple man, Garber, and we realised is not that simple afterall. As Garber kept saying, "I am just the guy, the guy at the end of the mike. It turns out he has greater strength than what he think he has and the pple ard him thinks, esp his boss. He has an exceptional gift of connecting to other pple and identify with them in their deepest emotions. I have to hand it over to him. In one hour, he is able to find out the terrorist's name, religion, deep life experience and even counsel him. Despite possessing such amazing qualities in the negotiation, Garber said" I am not a hostage negotiator, I am just a civil servant employee." :P He has excellent listening skills, in my opinion and was vulnerable and honest with himself and others. Also somone who stands by his principles yet having a compassionate heart, knowing when to bend the rules. He connects to the heart of the terrorist such that at the end of it, he is been seen as the hero, as the reliable person. He said in the show that when he was wearing his socks in the morning before going to work, he did not expect this to happen. Something so mind-blowing. It reminds me once again that we need to be tested to know what we are worth, to know what we are capable of. Living a mundane and routine life will only serve to hide the qualties we possess. The quote I like from the show is when the terrorist Ryder told Garber, "I know how my day was going to start" and he replied, "Do you know how it's going to end?

Do you know how it's going to end?
